Question...
"We are having a problem with the 5inch leslie valve.
The feed temperature on the water goes from 120 deg. to 90 deg. in a matter of thirty seconds, this is all day long. I have suggested to change the leslie valve,
its a 3 way leslie valve. We do have system pressure which fluctuates from our system house pumps.
The return water stays at a temperature of 110 deg. We are in a ten story Hospital in the south Bronx, and plenty of Latin food to eat.
The hot water systems just started this problem when they activated the leslie valve, its been on by-pass since I have been watching the system.
And slowly the water supply deg. have been climbing. I reported the problem, and the chief ordered the leslie valve put on line, and thats when the water supply
temperature started acting up. Could it be that the leslie valve was put in backwards. Please advise on this issue, we are all tempered out.

Control valves in a large system can cause strange things to happen. Your problem could be caused by both the valve and the pressure fluctuations.
If your house pumps take suction directly from the city main, the pressure from the house pumps will fluctuate due to variations in the city water pressure. This can be combated by installing a bladder tank on the discharge side of the pumps.
I suggest you contact someone with Leslie and ask them to inspect the valve installation. They may be able to find a problem immediately. The following information may help with allowing you to contact them and also view valve product brochures.

Problems like this can also be caused if the pressure differential between the hot water and cold water system is too great. If this is the case, you may need to install pressure regulators at a few locations to narrow the difference.
Hope this helps…Please keep in touch and eat well…
