Elevator Sump Pump
The elevator code requires that a sump pump be installed within each elevator pit. The discharge from the pump is not allowed to flow directly into the sewer system. This detail allows the fire department or user to connect to the bibb on the pump discharge and determine a proper location for disposing the pit effluent.
